Modern construction and the fence and gate
An increasing number of investors are choosing to build their homes in a modern, modernist style. Simple forms, classic shapes, muted colours, white, grey and black are back in favour. Columns a'la old Polish manor house, orange façades and clinker fences are becoming obsolete. But what about fences? Modern building + modern fence?
Modern construction vs. modern fencing
Unfortunately, the construction of such a house often entails a greater expense than the construction of a traditional house, which is why it will probably be a long time before modern-style houses prevail in our landscape. We can only hope that this will change as society gets richer. However, if we are the lucky ones who can afford to build this way and don't have to keep a record of every one of our building expenses then at some point in our house-building adventure we will be faced with the decision to build a fence. And, most importantly, we will be faced with a decision as to the appearance of our fences and the entrance gate including gates. Nowadays, in addition to its primary function, that of fencing, it also has the task of decorating the house and the surrounding area. The decision is difficult because there are plenty of beautiful solutions available on the market for a lucky person like us, but what should we choose so that it complements the look of our house and does not disfigure it?
One of the best solutions is certainly to go to the architect who designed our house and order from him a design of a fence (if he has not already done so) which will match and emphasise the qualities of our building or mask some of its shortcomings. A professional will design us a fence and the gate itself that will be consistent with the design of our house. This is often difficult for the builder himself to do.
The solutions that dominate contemporary modern architecture are primarily concrete and glass, possibly stainless steel or aluminium. Concrete as a material for the fence and glass/stainless steel/aluminium as materials that complete the modern fence, i.e. they appear as spans or fill in openings in the fence itself and, of course, as materials from which the entrance gate is made.
As for the gate itself, a good option is to find a professional company that is able to design our gate, which is unique in its appearance, and of course produce it.
Finally, it remains for us to take care of the beautiful marking of our house, possibly illuminating certain elements of the fence itself, and the brick effect. The fence will become a decoration rather than just fulfilling its primary function.
